As a fundraising writer, Nancy collaborates with colleges and non-profits to creatively meet their goals through crisp and compelling features and impact-driven language.
Professional experience
Nancy began her career in news broadcasting, with stints at CNN-Headline News in Atlanta and at an NBC News affiliate, where she was a medical reporter. She has been a freelance features writer and editor for more than 25 years. Nancy worked in education, both at ACT and as a high school English teacher. She is passionate about interviewing people, public speaking, and writing feature stories.
Awards and education
As part of RNL’s award-winning creative team, Nancy has received:
- Three Gold and one Merit award from the Education Digital Marketing Awards (EDMA)
- One Best in Show, two gold, one bronze, and three Merit awards from the Educational Advertising Awards
- Two Gold and two Merit awards from the Service Industry Advertising (SIA) Awards.
Nancy received a B.S. in journalism (broadcast news) and a B.A. in English from the University of Kansas. She is working toward her M.A. in journalism at the University of Nebraska and holds a teaching endorsement for grades 5-12 from the University of Iowa.
