Keynote Speakers

Liz Murrary

Opening Keynote: Liz Murray

Author and Speaker

From homeless to Harvard…it is an unlikely turn of events. Liz Murray’s life is a triumph over adversity and a stunning example of the importance of dreaming big. By age 15, Murray’s mom had died and she was homeless—living on the streets, riding the subway all night, and eating from dumpsters. Determined to take charge of her life, Murray finished high school in just two years and was awarded a full scholarship to Harvard University, all while camping out in New York City parks and subway stations. Today, Murray is a passionate advocate for underserved youth, working to end generational poverty through relationship-based learning. Her story is exhilarating and inspirational as she takes audiences on a very personal journey where she achieves the improbable.

Sumit Nijhawan

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Sumit Nijhawan

President and CEO, RNL

The digital transformation of higher education was already underway when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, but the crisis illustrated how critical that transformation is to the survival of colleges and universities. Digital engagement of prospective students, omnichannel communications that reach students wherever they are, and online learning continuity that can weather any disruptions have become essential enrollment elements. Dr. Sumit Nijhawan will discuss the pivots institutions need to make and the innovations they should embrace to achieve immediate stability while laying the foundation for a new long-term enrollment success.

Jeff Kallay, keynote speaker for RNLNC 2020

Keynote Speaker: Jeff Kallay

Senior Vice President, RNL+Render

Welcome to The Experience Economy where work is theatre and every business a stage. Most importantly, it is about not being commoditized and charging a premium price. In this informative and entertaining session, Jeff Kallay will explore the tenets and strategies for crafting experiences for students and families. Jeff Kallay is the co-founder of Render Experiences (now RNL+Render) and formerly served at TargetX. He is an extremely popular speaker at conferences and workshops around the country, and has become the nationally respected authority on the emerging experience economy and the all-important campus visit experience. He’s known for his booming voice and boisterous attitude.
