Matt Herzberger

Matt Herzberger supports clients working through web development initiatives with expert consultation in information architecture, content strategy, search engine optimization, and web site governance and management. Matt has nearly 15 years of experience working with public and private institutions of higher education, and has expertise in digital strategy and planning, and e-marketing and management.

Previous campus experience

Before joining Ruffalo Noel Levitz, Mr. Herzberger was the senior director of digital strategy at Creighton University (NE). In this role, he directed the development and implementation of the university’s web and interactive plan, including digital marketing initiatives, social media strategies, paid search, search engine optimization, ongoing site management, and overall performance evaluation.

Prior to Creighton, Mr. Herzberger was the director of web communications at Florida International University, where he was responsible for the university’s web presence, which included managing a multifunction team of designers, developers and projects managers, providing vision and strategy regarding mobile development, building a framework for emergency communications response on the web, and overseeing social media growth and strategy

Earlier in his career, Mr. Herzberger served as the web coordinator for the Texas A&M College of Engineering, webmaster for the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, and lead web designer for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is also the co-founder of BlogHighEd.org.


Mr. Herzberger holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.
