Creating a campus culture of change

Jim HundrieserSeptember 8, 2010

Last week’s Chronicle article regarding How to Create a Problem-Solving Institution provides some great suggestions as we look towards campuses creating a strategic enrollment management plan.  Campuses must work in an integrated way to effectively create the results needed for their future.  We know learners are entering with more diverse (some would say poorer) skill sets.

More students need remediation.  More students need mentorship. The list often goes on and on.  As I visit campuses, I witness great programs often offered with little collaboration or pilot programs completed that proved to have strong outcomes with no additional follow-through.  Campuses must do a better job collaborating and maximizing their use of resources and institutional dollars.

This article provides some good insights on how to keep a campus culture fresh, alive, and connected.  A long-term strategy that would help insure efforts such as enrollment management plans remain living and implemented.
