Strategic use of financial aid leads to positive outcomes in enrollment for Xavier University

Xavier University approached Ruffalo Noel Levitz with one fundamental objective: to more effectively leverage financial aid dollars to meet its goals for enrollment and its student profile.

The university focused its efforts with the Enrollment and Revenue Management System (ERMS), developing strategies for the allocation of funds to aid in the recruitment of various student populations.

Xavier has been able to maintain its student profile and meet its aspirations for enrolling additional types of students over a multi-year period. ERMS has helped the university identify goals and accomplish them through customized financial aid awarding methods. Xavier has enrolled its two largest freshmen classes in the institution's history since it began using ERMS.

"ERMS is only as good as what you put into it—it is not a single-year solution. If you invest the time into the product for multiple years you can establish a baseline and reference points for future improvement—that is when you will get the most out of it.

"Our relationship with [Ruffalo Noel Levitz] has been exceptional—our consultant has real-world experience in the field of financial aid and enrollment management and is able to identify the best ways for us to accomplish our goals."
