Associate Consultant

Maria MotenMaria Moten consults for Ruffalo Noel Levitz from her position as assistant provost at William Harper Rainey College (IL), where she has served since 1994. She has previously served as the dean of enrollment services and director of student financial assistance.

Under her leadership, Ms. Moten has been successful at implementing new cross-functional initiatives that place more emphasis on student success and student completion. As part of the institution’s strategic direction, Ms. Moten and her team reconfigured a comprehensive "new student flow" process that moves students in a clear, personalized manner from application to initial enrollment.

Additionally, Ms. Moten and her team achieved success with the implementation of student-centered initiatives designed to support and increase the number of students completing degrees and certificates in order to advance Harper’s overall strategic goal of producing 10,604 additional degrees and certificates by 2020. To date, the college has exceeded targeted goals by over 4,500 degrees and certificates.

Ms. Moten has also worked in collaboration with Student Development, Academic Affairs and other areas of the college in the continued evaluation of business practices related to recruitment, retention, program offerings, and other enrollment management related issues.

She began her professional career as a Financial Aid Counselor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.


Ms. Moten holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
