Noel-Levitz associate consultant John ReedJohn Reed offers 20 years of experience in enrollment management. His areas of expertise include student recruitment, student retention, institutional marketing, and financial aid. A former executive consultant for Ruffalo Noel Levitz, he is vice president at Golden Gate University (CA).

Mr. Reed's recent campus clients have experienced significant enrollment growth, including:

  • A 37 percent increase in fall enrollment FTE for a Wyoming community college after developing an institutional marketing plan
  • A 23 percent gain in new first-year students at a private Minnesota university after implementing a predictive modeling strategy
  • A 63 percent gain at a small liberal arts college in Oakland, California, over two years

Previous campus experience

Previously, Mr. Reed served as president of Trinity Lutheran College (WA). Prior to that, he was the vice president for enrollment management at Linfield College (OR), where he supervised the office of admission, financial aid services, registrar, and new student orientation, and was the chief officer for campus retention. He helped enroll two of the largest freshman classes in the college's history, improved student retention from 75 to 89 percent between 1991-1998, and increased academic quality and student diversity.

Mr. Reed also served as director of enrollment management and director of admissions at Whitworth College (WA).

Mr. Reed teaches the survey course on enrollment management in the online master's degree program in education offered by Ruffalo Noel Levitz in partnership with Capella University. Along with Mr. Reed's consulting work, he is the executive director of a year-round sports training program for youth with headquarters in Spokane, Washington.

Presentations and education

Mr. Reed has presented at numerous professional conferences, covering topics such as enrollment management, financial aid, student advising, quality service and using technology for enrollment.

He holds a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Whitworth College, and an MLE Leading Transformation and Change from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (MA).
